Iain MacAlister, laird of Dunstaffnage Castle, is away at Urquhart Castle helping his cousin defend his keep.  To no avail, Edward Longshanks overtakes Urquhart, and the Scots are forced to bow to his whim.  Called before “the Hammer of the Scots,” Iain is humiliated and told he has one week to find a bride or the English king will seize his lands and title.

Kenna MacKellar is a retired Sergeant Major of the United States Army with several overseas tours under her belt.  Now she is ready to relax and do some traveling for pleasure.  So with camera in hand, she takes a tour of the castles and ruins of Scotland.   On a beautiful sunny day she finds herself at Urquhart Castle with a feeling of dread that she can’t explain.  Once inside the ruins, she raises her camera and with one click and a flash of lightning, she is whisked away to the 13th century and falls literally into the arms of Iain MacAlister.

Is it possible that Iain, a Highland warrior who devoted his life to defending Scotland, finally find his desperately needed bride?  Or will the future reclaim Kenna before he has the chance to find out?

Stricken with grief after finding out his brother had died in battle; Aiden MacAlister devotedly takes care of both lands by traveling back and forth to his brother’s holdings and his own.  Then one day on the road to Dunstaffnage Castle, he comes across a very naked woman crawling on her hands and knees towards the loch.  Terrified for her safety, he calls out to her as he scrambles from his horse and snatches her into his arms just before she falls into the icy water.

Jaedin Greer, a captain and nurse in the United States Army was on a mission when her convoy was attacked and her Hum-V was hit by mortar fire and tossed it like a toy leaving it upside down.  A bit shaken but alright, Jaedin cut herself loose then grabbed her pack of supplies to help her wounded medic.  Once she dragged the soldier away from the wreckage, there was another loud explosion and bright flash of light, knocking her unconscious.  The next thing she knew, it was raining and she couldn’t see.  While crawling around to find her bearings, a set of large, strong arms encircled her, picking her up as if she weighed nothing while he asked if she was daft.

Could this woman be the antidote Aiden needs to help him find peace with his brother’s death?  Can this Highland warrior see beyond his own burdens to be Jaedin’s much needed eyes?  Will Jaedin, an ambitious modern day warrior allow this arrogant man close to her heart and find Her Noble Destiny?

Isla MacKinnon &
Cian James

Isla MacKinnon is a CH-47 pilot in the United States Army.  She loves making jewelry and is on leave in the Orkney Islands attending a workshop on jewelry making.  She is taking a break to eat lunch and goes down to the loch to dip her feet into the cool water.  She is more comfortable in combat boots but decided to wear cute little sandals that hurt her feet, as all women do.  The winds pick up and a severe storm blows in over the loch.  The hat that she was wearing gets caught by the wind and blows into the water.  She reaches out with some difficulty then decides to wade out to get it.  The water hits her just above her knees, holding her skirt out of the way to keep it from getting wet, grabs her hat!  The storm has opened up and the rains and winds are fierce.  She loses her balance and gets caught by a weird undertow.  She is pulled under and loses consciousness.

Cian James is laird of Moal Castle on the Isle of Skye.  Fergus MacAlpin, a favorite in King Edward’s court has decided he wants Moal for himself.  It is widely known that Cian’s grandmother was from Norway making him not of true Scottish blood, so Fergus challenges him for the keep that is supposed to remain in MacKinnon ownership or be forfeited.

Cian is walking along the loch contemplating his future as laird of Moal and how he can maintain ownership, when he sees a body floating in the water.  He dives in and retrieves the body of a woman.  This woman is Isla MacKinnon.  His beloved childhood home of Maol Castle is secure, or so he thinks….

Kaela Robertson &
Daire MacLaren

Staff Sergeant Kaela Robertson, a Surveyor for the United States Army, is on a mission comparing several properties in Scotland to set up a new installation.  As she’s hiking in the highlands, she comes across a crevasse with the hidden keep of Dunnideer Castle that is in ruins and covered with foliage.  Fascinated, she repels down to take a closer look.  While walking amidst its broken walls, she can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching her.  She finds a large old mirror in one of the second level rooms.  After running her hand across its old glass, she could swear she sees a set of blue eyes staring back at her.  After gaining permission from the Scottish government, she is granted temporary ownership of the mirror for research and has it taken to her cottage.

Daire MacLaren is commanded to appear before the king with his wife, who was rumored to be with child, so that the king can give his approval on the new born.  He can't believe his eyes when he sees a woman who looks remarkably like his recently deceased wife peering back at him through his own mirror.  If he doesn’t show up with his wife and baby, the king will take it as a snub to the throne and declare MacLaren lands forfeit.  A few evenings later, he is studying her through the mirror, watching her undress in front of him, noticing the physical differences between his late wife and her.  Daire finds himself mesmerized by this beautiful woman.

Could this be the answer to his prayers?  Does this alluring woman hold the answer to saving MacLaren’s holdings and his heart?  If only he could find a way to bring her to him.

Maura &

During the Wars of Scottish Independence, Rothesay Castle was held by the English, but then was taken by Robert the Bruce in 1311. It then returned to English hands in 1334.  After saving the life of the Bruce, during a hunting expedition, Boyd Somerled is given a task from the Scottish King.  Retake Rothesay from the English, and the castle is yours.

Maura Stewart is a Deployment specialist for the United States Army, trained to mobilize troops at lightning’s notice.  Most of the time, she sits in her office plotting troop movements and phoning them in.  This time, she’s going with them.  While being transported from the airport to the second checkpoint, their Blackhawk is hit and goes down.

When Maura comes to, she is in the middle of the line of fire of an arrow bound for a deer.  Boyd Somerled lowers his bow in disbelief at seeing the woman materialize from the air, only to see out of the corner of his eye, movement to the left.  As he looks over, he sees an English assassin making his move for the Bruce.  Boyd fires his arrow for the man, saving the King.  Then he looked back for the woman, only to find her gone.

Will Boyd find this emerald eyed beauty again?

Book 11 of the Warriors of Destiny Series

Catrina &
Lachlan

For as long as she could remember, Catrina  Buchanan, a Public Affairs Specialist in the United States Army had a stone the size of a DVD case that looked like it was the other half of something larger.  It had these weird circles and symbols on it and she had no idea what it was or where it came from.

While making a tourism video for the Army recreation center a rain storm rolled in, making it impossible to shoot that day.  So instead of moping, she grabbed her raincoat and took a walk amidst pict ruins at Dunbar Castle.  There she saw other symbols exactly like the ones on the stone she had at home.  She continued to walk along, running her hands over the etched, cool, wet stones.  All of the sudden, a strong gust of wind knocked her back causing her to lose her breath.  Feeling like she’d been hit by an invisible force, she turned around to see what came at her.  It was the last thing she remembered before all went dark.

Lachlan Dunbar, laird of Dunbar Castle was plagued by nightmares of a witch that would rip his heart from his body and then disappear.  He knew he couldn’t tell anyone for fear they would think he’d lost his mind and would challenge for his lands.  Every time he would wake up from these nightmares, he would reach for his claymore swinging at nothing but air.

Imagine his horror when one night, when he awoke, he swung his sword and connected with something solid.  Hearing a female cry out, he dropped the claymore to the ground and gathered up a beautiful woman in his arms.

Could this woman be the witch come to take his heart?
